The home was originally built in 1994 by renowned Boston-based architect Thomas Catalano of Catalano Architects in a European style. The butterfly-shaped design ensures privacy in both wings of the home.
Spanning an commodious 13,500 square feet, there are seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and a powder room filtered throughout three levels. The open-plan home features limestone and white hardwood floors, coffered ceilings, French doors, and custom windows. The home’s white canvas allowed Smith and her husband unbridled creativity, and the home is packed with rich textures, bright hues, and colorful patterns.
Upon entering, you’re greeted with a grand, double-height foyer that’s filled with natural light thanks to the oversized windows that line the large staircase and a massive skylight overhead. The foyer separates the formal living areas and leads to a pastel-hued living room with a shimmering silver ceiling, a fireside formal dining room, and the chef’s kitchen, which is configured with two kitchen islands and features black and white checkerboard tile backsplashes.
