Hoda Kotb Has a Strong Reaction to Impromptu Moment With Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande on ‘Today’: ‘What Was That?’
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, the stars of the new movie adaptation of Wicked, visited Today to promote the film, leading to a surprisingly emotional moment with host Hoda Kotb.
During Today hosts Kotb and Savannah Guthrie's interview with the actresses, Kotb requested Grande and Erivo sing a bit of a duet cover of "I'm Every Woman," initially performed by Chaka Khan and later Whitney Houston, and they did.

Grande and Erivo perfectly harmonized to perform the special song and when it was over, Kotb emotionally wiped tears from her eyes.
"It was all right!" said Grande, with Kotb responding strongly as she said, "Oh my! OK, it wasn't 'all right.' What was that? Wow."

Today shared a clip of the moment on Instagram, writing, "We have chills — again."
Some fans had similar reactions to Kotb's when they watched the video, with replies like, "Teary eyed! That’s me! Teary eyed!!!! 🥹🥹🥹🥰🥰🥰🥰," and "I'm in heaven right now from their beautiful singing voices."

Grande and Erivo star in Wicked, set to hit theaters on Nov. 22. In the movie adaptation of the beloved story, Erivo plays Elphaba opposite Grande's Glinda. The cast also features Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum and more.
