Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma Adopt Kitten Rescued from Parking Lot 'the Night the Eaton Fire Started'
The kitten, Jinkx, is approximately 10 weeks old and spent time with Pasadena's Feline Lifeline rescue before moving in with the "How I Met Your Father" star
Hilary Duff's family just got bigger and cuter.
On Jan 29, the Younger actress told her over 26 million Instagram followers that she had recently adopted a new kitten. Duff, 37, shared the news by reposting an Instagram Stories post from her husband, Matthew Koma. In the post, Koma holds a small, big-eyed cat with fur spilling out her ears like a fountain.
"This little girl was rescued from a parking lot the night the Eaton Fire started," Koma, 37, wrote on the post shared by his wife, adding, "Thank you @lifelinecats for letting us be her new home🧡."
"Moon got a friend!" added Duff to the post, referencing the cat her family welcomed last year.
Feline Lifeline, the Pasadena, Calif. nonprofit that rescued Duff's new pet, shared more information about the approximately 10-week-old kitten in a Jan. 16 Instagram post full of sweet photos. According to the organization, it rescued the kitten — named Jinkx Pawnsoon, after drag queen and Broadway star Jinkx Monsoon — from a Trader Joe's parking lot just as the winds that contributed to the spread of the L.A. fires picked up speed.
"Friendly and affectionate, she came running out of the nearby brush when the feeder arrived, essentially begging for rescue," the post read.

Feline Lifeline also noted that Jinkx was set to be vaccinated, microchipped, flea-treated, dewormed, tested for FIV/FeLV, and spayed before her adoption.
The cat rescue updated its post about JInkx on Jan. 29 to inform its followers that the adorable kitten had found her forever home.
"UPDATE: Jinkx has been adopted! Jinkxy girl, have the best life with @hilaryduff and @matthewkoma," Lifeline Cats wrote in the update.

Duff and Koma are used to opening their home to those in need. The couple took in members of Mandy Moore's family, who were impacted by the L.A. wildfires.
"Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilaryduff thought it wise to set up a gofundme for us to help with everything moving forward," musician Griffin Goldsmith, Moore's brother-in-law, shared on Instagram about the family's kindness. "Not to mention they are currently housing my brother's family. They've taken care of my entire family from the moment this began. I will never be able to thank them adequately,"
