So here’s the thing, do you wash your legs in the shower?

This simple conundrum is taking Twitter by storm, and internet users are in meltdown over their fellow humans’ suprising shower choices.

The question was posted via a Twitter poll by user Conor Arpwel, and quickly went viral, attracting over 300,000 votes in a matter of hours.

As it turns out, the practice of leaving the legs to their own devices is a lot more common than you might have thought.

Almost 20% of the poll admitted they skip the pins in the shower.

Yep, apparently some people are selective about what body parts warrant a scrub.

Over 1000 comments have been left and the reactions vary between defiance, disgust and dismay.

Many were horrified that people wouldn’t conduct a full body scrub down.

“Are there people who do not feel the need to.... wash their legs.......” queried one confused user.

“Why would you NOT wash your legs?” said another.

Some, however were adamant that it is completely unnecessary, for a variety of reasons.

“They've been safe inside my pants, the whole day. What's the problem,” said one defiant user.

As another person pointed out, pant-coverage does not a clean body part make: “A few of things have been safe inside your pants all day, but may still need a wash...”

“I feel like my legs don’t get dirty. Plus, soap and shampoo run down my legs when Im showering,” argued another non-washer.

Others reserved leg washing for special occasions.

“I only do if I've been bare legged or to the gym and they feel sweaty,” was how one user justified her shower habits.

Some made light of what others saw as a serious issue of public hygiene.

“No, I take them off before showering so they’ll last longer,” said one cheeky contributor.

“They’re just going to get dirty again,” argued another.

Other reactions were harder to express verbally.

With 80% of respondents claiming they do in fact wash their legs, at least some of the non-washers saw the light.

With the simple act of washing your legs now apparently up for debate, you have to wonder what else people are or aren’t washing in the privacy of their showers.

We’re officially concerned.
