Halloween is drawing close, and it means just one thing - Heidi Klum is about to emerge from her lair with the spookiest, most outrageous costume you could imagine for her annual Halloween Party.

When you’ve got access to some of the best costumes and make-up artists the world has to offer, it's no surprise that celebrity Halloween costumes tend to come out on top. But Klum always goes the extra mile year after year.

Last year, the German model made jaws drop when she rocked up at her party as a giant worm. Her costume completely encased her from head to toe in heavy prosthetics, with only her eyes and mouth left to try and make out the model beneath.

In an unusual take on the couple’s costume, her husband Tom Kaulitz dressed as a fisherman, complete with wading trousers and a fishing rod, and used Klum’s ‘Big Apple Worm’ – created by Mike Marino at Prosthetic Renaissance Inc. – as bait.

Klum later ditched the “claustrophobic” costume once inside the party, keeping only the prosthetic face, and donned a see-through bedazzled bodysuit and brown boots.

Klum is known for keeping her Halloween costumes super secret until the big reveal, but dropped a hint about what it might look like this year during an interview.

Last week, she told Entertainment Tonight: "I actually just took a trip, five hours I had to fly some place - and I don't even want to say where, because I don't want to give you away any clue - but I had to fly five hours to this mysterious place and five hours back just to have a look how things were going. Things are going very well. Thank goodness!"

When pressed about her costume, the TV personality was tight-lipped about the details but she did reveal that it would be "very colourful and super big", so big in fact that it might "block a few lanes of the street" when she walks the red carpet.

"Honestly, I was envisioning it to be epic," she added.
