Heath Ledger’s Daughter Matilda Is All Grown Up in Rare Sighting

It's not very often that Matilda Ledger is spotted in public—but whenever she does make an appearance, her resemblance to her late father, Heath Ledger, is unmistakable.

The 19-year-old was seen taking a walk with pal May Lehrer-Seller in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sunday, Jan. 12, looking happy and healthy.

In pics obtained by Page Six, Matilda wore baggy jeans and a green puffer jacket, accessorizing with bright red flats and a matching bag. Her light brown hair fell below her shoulders. Both Matilda and May—the daughter of “Hamilton” producer Jeffrey Seller—carried cups of coffee.

This is the first time Matilda has been photographed since July 2024, when she was snapped while walking hand-in-hand with her mom, Michelle Williams, as they left a nail salon in Brooklyn.

On that outing, Matilda was dressed in a white T-shirt and white baggy track pants, adding a black tote and matching Adidas sneakers. Michelle opted for a button-down dress in a yellow and green print, a pair of black shades, a lime green bag and brown leather sandals.

The anniversary of Heath's death is just days away, as the actor died on Jan. 22, 2008, when Matilda was only a toddler. Michelle and Heath had ended their three-year relationship months before his death at the age of 28.

In an interview with Variety, Michelle praised Succession actor Jeremy Strong for helping Matilda cope with Heath's loss, noting that Jeremy, another friend, her sister and her sister's boyfriend all moved into her home after he died.

“Jeremy was serious enough to hold the weight of a child’s broken heart and sensitive enough to understand how to approach [her] through play and games and silliness,” Williams said.
