First look at Harry and Meghan's explosive Oprah tell-all

The world has been given its first glimpse of Prince Harry and Meghan's Markle's exclusive tell-all interview with Oprah, set to air next week.

And between Oprah asking Meghan "were you silent, or were you silenced?" and Harry saying he was worried about "history repeating itself" the interview promises to be dramatic.

In the preview trailer for the CBS interview, which aired in the US on Sunday night during an ad break, Oprah says "you've said some pretty shocking things here".

The veteran host also explains “I just want to make it clear to everybody there is no subject that’s off limits.”

That sentiment was echoed on social media by royal commentator Omid Scobie, who also wrote: "No subject was off limits" while sharing the trailer online.

The clip shows that Oprah spoke to Meghan and Harry individually before also addressing them both as a couple.

Though Meghan doesn't say anything in the trailer, there are a few glimpses of her looking less than impressed, specifically when Oprah is seen asking her the question about "being silenced".

In a second preview clip shared on Twitter, Harry opens up about how "incredibly tough" things were for the couple before leaving the UK.

"For me I'm just incredibly happy and relieved to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side," Harry says, while holding Meghan's hand.

"Because I can't begin to imagine what it must have been like for her [referring to his mother Diana] going through this process by herself."

Royal fans took to social media to share their initial thoughts on the interview, with many expressing their excitement over seeing the full special.

"I am ready, already tearing up. It is such a relief we are finally going to hear their side of the story, after four years," one person said.

"Hope they expose any and everyone," another wrote.

The interview will be a 90-minute special to air US channel CBS on March 7.

A statement from the network explained Oprah would speak with Meghan "in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work, to how she is handling life under intense public pressure".

“Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”

The trailer's release comes just days after Harry surprised royal fans with a casual appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
