Harry cut William and Charles' secrets from book: 'Never forgive me'

The Duke of Sussex has claimed he cut out half the content from his memoir for fear his family wouldn't forgive him.

Prince Harry has revealed he has enough content to write even more books about his experience as a royal but cut out half of the first draft of his memoir Spare as he feared Prince William and King Charles wouldn't forgive him for revealing so much.

Harry told The Telegraph there are some things "I just don't want the world to know", and as such, they weren't included in the book, which was written by ghostwriter J.R. Moehringer.

"It could have been two books, put it that way," he added, revealing the first draft was 800 pages, double the final 400-page memoir. "And there were other bits that I shared with JR, that I said: 'Look, I'm telling you this for context but there's absolutely no way I'm putting it in there.'"

Harry continued, saying it was impossible to share his story without including his family members "because they play such a crucial part in it, and also because you need to understand the characters and personalities of everyone within the book".

"But there are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don't want the world to know. Because I don't think they would ever forgive me," he said.

The Prince added that it could be argued that they won't forgive him anyway.

"But the way I see it is, I'm willing to forgive you for everything you've done, and I wish you'd actually sat down with me, properly, and instead of saying I'm delusional and paranoid, actually sit down and have a proper conversation about this, because what I'd really like is some accountability. And an apology to my wife."

Harry also shared his fears for William's three children, saying it "hurts" and "worries" him that at least one of them will "end up like me, the spare". However, he added William has made it "very clear" that his children are not Harry's responsibility.

Spare has become the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time. It includes numerous bombshell claims about the royals, including a story of how Harry and William were involved in a physical scrap in 2019, which resulted in the Duke of Sussex being left with "scrapes and bruises".
