Spotlight store stuns with $21 'Raygun' move: 'Best seller this year'

Spotlight has gone out and won this year's best Halloween costume already, with the retail branch putting out the most iconic Aussie costume of 2024: a dedicated Raygun 'fit, that they've labelled 'Break Dance Girl'.

If, like me, you're not exactly a dress-up fiend but somehow find yourself invited to multiple dress-up events a year, including Halloween parties, then look no further: not only is this outfit simple, it's iconic, it's hilarious, it'd be comfortable, and you wouldn't have to spend all that much time explaining what you're dressed as or who you are, considering Raygun's huge meme-ability from the 2024 Olympics.

In case you need a quick refresher, Raygun — aka Rachael Gunn — is a 37-year-old Australian breakdancer who represented 'Straya at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the newly formed breaking competition, scoring 0 points in her brief but memorable stint. Her moves went insanely viral on social media, spurning hundreds of memes so while she may have not progressed in the Olympics, she certainly made a lasting impression on people around the world.

Spotlight debuts Raygun dress Halloween outfit

A TikTok user recently uploaded a video of a Spotlight find, showing off the Break Dance Girl outfit, captioning the video, "Who approved this?" showing the outfit was discounted with 30%, with the woman who found it saying it was retailing for around "$21".

Of course, social media users absolutely bloody loved it.

"Hahaha they are so real for this," one person commented. "Best seller this year," another predicted.

"You will get confused with an Aussie Cricket Player," someone else pointed out. "Probably will still score zero points."

"There are going to be so many break dance girls this year," another person said, with the original poster agreeing and saying, "They should have done a kids one that would have kinda been cute."
