Gwen Stefani stuns fans with racy snap: 'Ageing backwards'

Gwen Stefani has stunned fans with a racy snap on Instagram, with some fans saying she is "ageing backwards". The 53-year-old looked very fresh-faced in the photo, in which she rocked her signature red lipstick and curls.

The star posed in a cut-off singlet with a lacy red bra underneath and an oversized flannel shirt, with fishnet stockings and a mid-length skirt.

"Is she 20 or 50??? Timeless beauty," one fan commented.

"What’s the secret to ageing backwards?" another questioned.

"Dude. She. Doesn’t. Age," a third added.

"You look stunning!" someone else wrote.

"Love this look on you," one person said.

However, some fans weren't on board with the look, with one user writing, "Yes, lots of makeup and photoshop will make any 50 year old look 30."

"Please Gwen… no more work on your face," another said.

"She needs to dress her age not like a teenager," someone else added.

It's not the first time Gwen has been accused of having cosmetic work done, with the star shocking fans during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in September.

"She’s literally unrecognisable," one surprised user wrote.

"She is so naturally beautiful and I definitely wasn’t prepared to see her looking like this!" another said.

"Way too many fillers in her cheeks. Her face looks so swollen."

While Gwen has never admitted to having any cosmetic procedures done, she spoke to Stellar magazine last year, saying she's "obsessed" with the way she's ageing.

"It’s really hard for everyone to age and have to face life," she said. "Especially for females and people who have been in the spotlight it can be daunting, but you tackle it by just trying to be the most beautiful version of yourself inside and out."

"People talking about my ageing is a compliment, I guess. I’m kind of obsessed with how I’m ageing, too."

During her 2016 appearance on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke, the host jokingly asked how she was ageing in reverse, with the singer attributing it to her relationship with husband Blake Shelton.

"I kind of started falling in love. Then I wrote a whole record about that. That’s what the 'face' lift is, I think!" she said.
