Guy Fieri Shares the Secrets to His 30-Pound Weight Loss: 'Gets Me Fired Up'

Guy Fieri

Since 2020, Guy Fieri has lost 30 pounds—and recently, the mayor of Flavortown dished on how he did it.

The Food Network star opened up about his diet and exercise regimen during an interview with Men's Health. One of the most recent activities Fieri added to his routine is rucking (hiking with a weighted backpack) for 2.5 miles every morning.

Additionally, the celebrity chef incorporated HIIT workouts led by a trainer twice per week. Fifteen minutes in the sauna followed by a 3-minute cold plunge is also a daily practice.

"The thing about cold plunges is that you gotta get through the first 30 seconds," he told Men's Health. "When I started, I hated waiting on the timer to go off. But now I breathe and get into the right mind space. The energy it gives you… it gets me fired up. I do it every day."

As for the eating side of things, the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives star has incorporated intermittent fasting, prompting him to cut out breakfast and only eat between noon and 8 p.m. Fieri also increased his vegetable intake.

Contrary to what his Food Network shows may suggest, his diet wasn't that bad to begin with, even when filming for DDD.

"Everybody thinks I chug down the whole cheeseburger," Fieri told People in 2022. 'I'll try two items in a restaurant, three restaurants in a day. By the time I've had two bites of each food, I'm full."

Keeping up with his family—his wife, Lori, and their sons, Ryder, 18, and Hunter, 27—was a huge motivator for the Food Network star. (Guy and Lori also became the legal guardians of his nephew, Jules, now 22, when his sister, Morgan, died in 2011.)

That sounds like a solid reason to us!
