Grimes responds after Elon Musk brings their son to Oval Office press conference

Musician and record producer Grimes is speaking out after seeing her ex Elon Musk parading their son around the Oval Office.

At a White House press conference, the tech mogul spoke to reporters about his recent work for the Department of Government Efficiency, as 4-year-old son X Æ A-Xii was seen climbing on his dad while President Trump signed an executive order to bolster the agency’s power.

Grimes, Musk’s former partner and mother to three of his 12 children, was seemingly less than thrilled when she found out via social media about her son’s public appearance.

“He should not be in public like this,” Grimes wrote on X under a video of the moment. “I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”

The 36-year-old singer dated Musk from 2018 to 2022 and the duo share three children — X Æ A-Xii (also known as Lil X), 3-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, and 2-year-old son Tau Techno Mechanicus.

Though Grimes generally stays out of the public eye, she also recently also commented on the backlash she received after the viral moment when Musk appeared to give a Nazi salute following Trump’s inauguration.

“It’s absurd that someone can be this canceled for something their ex did before they even heard it happened,” Grimes wrote on X. “I am not him. I will not make a statement every time he does something. I can only send love back into a world that is hurting.”

“To be clear, I could go talk s--t and be on a bunch of magazine covers and be a feminist hero and get clout — but it would serve no purpose. I choose my children’s wellbeing,” she continued. “I promise you it doesn’t feel good to be hated all the time for things I don’t even know about, cannot predict and cannot control.”
