As you can guess from the above photo, the Season 21 premiere of Grey’s Anatomy finds Jo wishing Levi would open a patient and close his mouth — at least until she’s had a chance to break it to significant other Link that the negative results of her first pregnancy test were incorrect.

Elsewhere in the images ABC released ahead of Thursday’s “If Walls Could Talk” (airing at a new time, 10/9c), we get a sense of how Jules and Mika are faring in the aftermath of their Season 20 finale near-kiss. And we get a sneak peek at how well Catherine is faring… as opposed to all the doctors that she axed!

Per the official logline for the episode: After firing some of Grey Sloan’s best, Catherine continues to interfere with Meredith and Amelia’s research. Accidents at a climate-change protest bring unique cases to the hospital, and Bailey encounters a blast from the past — no doubt Kali Rocha’s Dr. Sydney Heron, who is returning to the long-running drama after an absence of 17 (!) years.

As the Season 21 trailer revealed (watch it here), Meredith will be moving heaven and earth to see that Amelia, Owen and Teddy don’t remain collateral damage of her fight with Catherine over the groundbreaking research that could end up curing Alzheimer’s disease.

As showrunner Meg Marinis told TVLine, “Meredith feels very responsible” for Amelia & Co. being sent from the operating room to the unemployment line. “But Meredith made a huge decision in walking away from Catherine, and that is definitely going to have huge consequences” going forward.

Worry? Catherine? Hell, no. She could sue Meredith into oblivion using nothing but the loose change she finds in her couch. Maybe Jackson will be able to get through to Mommie Dearest. (Jesse Williams is returning.)

The only way Levi could misinterpret Jo’s body language as saying anything but “So help me, if you tell my boyfriend I’m pregnant, I’ll strangle you with a stethoscope!” is if he doesn’t look in her direction.

Now that she’s expecting, Jo can’t even have a beer with Levi. They’ve come a long way from their disastrous one-night stand years ago, eh?

It sure looks like nothing is troubling Link. So either he’s heard that he’s about to become a dad again and is on board with it or… Yeah, the other shoe may yet to have dropped.

It can’t help but be a bit awkward between Jules and Mika since the Season 20 finale brought them thisclose to becoming friends with benefits such as kissing.

Do you wanna tell Lucas and Blue that it’s rude to eavesdrop, or shall we? Then again, if Mika’s conversation with Jules was all that sensitive, they probably wouldn’t be having it around their fellow interns.

If Jules is going to explore her feelings for Mika, she sure picked a bad time for it, what with Midori Francis leaving in Season 21.

It’s a turning point as an exclamation point: Catherine learns the hard way that she can only push Bailey so far before the former chief shoves back. Or, in Season 21’s premiere, slaps back.

It’s going to take a miracle for Grey to bury the hatchet with Catherine and get Grey Sloan re-staffed. But if Mer can cure Alzheimer’s, she can surely pull this off, too… right?
