Who Is Going Home First on 'Dancing with the Stars'?

Dancing with the Stars returns tonight with 13 couples still competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy but at the end of the night, that number will be 11 as two couples will go home in Week 2.

Former DWTS pro and podcaster Cheryl Burke shared with Parade her advice to competitors and who she thinks could be sent home in the first eliminations of Season 33.

Burke says Sports Illustrated model Brooks Nader and her pro dancer partner Gleb Savchenko need to work on rounding out their charisma with reliability to stay in the running. She extended that sentiment to controversial contestant Anna Delvey.

Returning to the tradition of previous seasons (except last year), there was no elimination the first week when the season premiered on Sept. 17 on ABC. The scores of the first two weeks are combined for tonight's double elimination.

Burke, a professional dancer on the show for 26 seasons, was the first female pro to win the show, and then the first to win it twice in a row. Today, she hosts the podcast, Sex, Lies and Spray Tans, dishing the dirt with other former celebrity and pro competitors on what it was like during their times behind the scenes of the hit ABC series.

"I don't know if it's going to be a bottom three or a bottom two, but I think Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko could be in danger if they don't showcase their fun—not flirty, we already got that side, but like the fun, nerdy, self-deprecating—not sure if Brooks has that side of her or not, but I think it's important to just be human," Burke says. "I really do and I think that's what's missing [with] Brooks and Anna for sure. It's hard to relate to them. I forget about Brooks and Gleb, which is a shame."

Delvey, who is paired with new professional dance partner Ezra Sosa, wore a bejeweled ankle monitor for their pair's cha cha, the last dance of the premiere. Afterward, judge Carrie Ann Inaba urged the audience to focus on the dancing and "give it a chance" before remarking on a “shift in the energy” in the room as soon as Delvey appeared.

Burke says she agrees with Inaba's perspective.

"I actually agree with Carrie Ann. I just wish they wouldn't have cut her off the way that [they did]. She didn't get a chance to actually give her critique because they cut her off. It is important to address it because, at the end of the day, the casting is done. She is part of Season 33's cast of celebrities for Dancing with the Stars, and, yes, do I think it's important to look at the dancing, but this is also not just a dance show," Burke says. "But I also think Anna needs to do her part by opening herself up a little bit and show that she's human and show emotion, and whatever emotion she chooses to show needs to be shown sooner rather than later if she wants to last longer."

As for this season's older competitors, Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, 68, and Family Matters star Reginald VelJohnson, 72, Burke isn't quick to dismiss either.

"If I were to go through everybody, I don't think it's going to be Eric or Reginald yet. I think it'll happen soon after, but I don't think they'll be the first," she says.
