The flared jeans that this year’s headliner wore while onstage at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La., received overwhelming praise among those who tuned in for Super Bowl LIX, as GMA co-host Reeve explained in a clip that the show shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

“The fans online are particularly focused on one thing: his outfit and the resurgence of the Y2K bootleg pant trend,” Reeve, 32, said of Lamar, 37.

The son of the late Superman star Christopher Reeve then stood up to reveal he matched his white shirt, black suit jacket and purple tie with a pair of jeans. Reeve’s pants were not identical to the pair that Lamar wore during the Halftime Show but did have some similarities, including a slight flare and fading down the front of his pant legs.

“I decided—uh, I didn’t really decide,” Reeve admitted. “But I am putting it to the test. What do we think? These are more of a bootcut than the real flare that he had.”

After Reeve explained the similarities between the two pairs of jeans, he begged his colleagues, “Please say something,” a request that earned him assurances his outfit “looks great,” even as they acknowledged that the styles were not identical.

“You always are taking one for the team,” Robin Roberts observed.

“I am always taking one for the team,” Reeve agreed. “That is right.”

While sharing the clip on Instagram, GMA asked fans, “Who wore it better?!”

Many Instagram users who responded to the inquiry pointed out, as Reeve and his co-hosts did, the style differences between his jeans and Lamar’s. Others pushed those details aside and shared their votes in the comment section, revealing a divided fanbase.

“Will 😍,” one fan wrote as another echoed the opinion, adding that Reeve’s look was "Sleek, trim, sophisticated! ❤️.”

“Will. Of course!” a third declared.

Several others disagreed as they expressed that Lamar “wore it better 💙” and that “Kenny takes another W!”

“Kendrick Ate yes👏❤️🙌🔥🔥🔥,” one fan declared.

“Kendrick! Sorry,” another fan decided while apologizing to Reeve for their vote.
