Glen Powell is taking the field — in a nasty new disguise.

Hulu has unveiled the first teaser for Chad Powers, the upcoming half-hour comedy series Powell co-created with Michael Waldron (Loki). The 15-second video offers a glimpse of his character Russ Holliday going incognito to revamp his career as the big-nosed Chad Powers. "I got something comin' up," Russ says. "Somethin' kinda big."

The footage briefly shows Russ sitting in a car before applying prosthetics to his face and walking into a football stadium. We also see Russ disguised as Chad — with a massive bulbous schnoz and an unusual closed-mouth grin that's probably hiding false teeth — alongside Perry Mattfeld's Ricky, and get a brief shot of Steve Zahn's Jake Hudson shouting in the middle of a game, though it's not immediately clear if his exclamation is celebratory or frustrated.

Powell's retooled image is a crucial part of the show's premise. In the series the hot-tempered Russ squanders his college football career, prompting him to adopt a disguise to join a new team without the baggage of his past. The series is based on an ESPN+ comedy segment starring Eli Manning, which featured the athlete in a similar disguise as he attempted to join Penn State's football team. Manning said he drew inspiration from Matthew McConaughey, one of Powell's idols, in Dazed & Confused, directed by Powell's frequent collaborator Richard Linklater.

Chad Powers is the latest project for Powell, who has rapidly become one of Hollywood's busiest leading men. After headlining the Netflix rom-com Set It Up and delivering a buzzy supporting turn in Top Gun: Maverick, Powell starred in another rom-com, Anyone but You, which was a big box office success in late 2022. He also headlined the hit sequel Twisters and the dramedy Hit Man in summer 2024.

He'll also headline the thriller Huntington alongside Margaret Qualley, and rumors have circulated that he'll star in the mysterious new film from J.J. Abrams.
