Pop-Tarts’ extra-large pastry was so crazy good that it sold out!

The company revealed on social media on Wednesday, Aug. 7 that its limited edition Party Pastry — which is 73 times the size of a normal Pop-Tart — sold out after just one day.

“Our Party Pastry was a big deal. So big, it’s gone already," the brand said.

Its website reflected the news, too, saying that the super large treat was “out of stock.”

Made in celebration of Pop-Tarts' 60th birthday, the frosted strawberry treat cost $60 and was only for sale to those in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. Only 15 Party Pastries were produced in each city and could be customized “with cursive buttercream frosting” for any celebration, according to the company.

News of the promo was only announced on Aug. 5. The sale was supposed to last from Aug. 7 at 1 p.m. through Aug. 3 at 3 p.m., but eager shoppers snagged them up quickly.

Those lucky few who did get them will have the treat delivered in a three-foot-tall box, the company said, between Aug. 14 and Aug. 16.

Meanwhile, Pop-Tarts has already teased another possible release. "Should we have another drop?" they wrote on Instagram. "Sign up to be ready, just in case 😉.”

Foodbeast got an early sneak preview of the treat, unboxing it in an Instagram video.

Founder Elie Ayrouth and his staff compared the size of the treat to an iPhone before taking turns snapping photos with the large food item. They then took turns tearing off pieces, one noting that the sprinkles on top of the treat were “life-sized" and another who tried the pop-tart saying “was so good.” Others exclaimed, “wow” as they tried it for the first time.

“It tastes like a regular [pop-tart] just way bigger,” one creator noted, before Ayrouth said the party pastry was “way too much pop-tart for us” and offering it up for others to try.

Its been a busy year for Pop-Tarts, the company celebrating its 60th anniversary on the heels of Jerry Seinfeld’s April Netflix movie Unfrosted, which shared a fictional and humorous take on the invention of the iconic treat.

The toaster pastry brand wasn’t behind the movie, but shared a comedic short film of their own shortly after the movie dropped. It featured Seinfeld being brought to the Pop-Tarts offices to discuss “trademark infringement” with company representatives.
