Yahoo Lifestyle Getting Ready With Alix Earle in Hervé Léger for 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards
CFDA Awards first-time attendee Alix Earle was the guest of Hervé Léger designer Michelle Ochs Monday evening, wearing a look from the brand’s resort 2025 collection for the occasion.
“I specifically remember this one dress in my mom’s closet when I was younger and that was a Hervé Léger bandage dress,” Earle said. “I couldn’t wait to grow up so I could steal it from her. Flash forward to now, attending as the brand’s guest alongside Michelle Ochs was such a full-circle moment for me. Michelle has really put such a beautiful, elevated spin on the brand’s classic styles, and my look made me feel chic, cool, and sexy all at the same time.”

Earle flew into New York the day of the event and promptly got into the glam chair.
“I was able to get my hair, makeup and nails done all while on a Zoom meeting. I also love being able to close my eyes and take a little nap while getting my glam done if I need to,” she said. “Since my dress was very tight, I wanted my glam to be big to balance it out. My references were the iconic supermodels of the ’90s and early 2000s — think glossy lips, voluminous hair, shimmery eye shadow.”
Her schedule meant accessories were determined practically “as I was walking out the door.”
“I love the silver detailing throughout my dress and wanted to tie this all together with silver jewelry, silver shoes and a silver bag,” she said.
The style dress she opted for came in a few shades and Earle was torn between the brown and the black, before opting for the brown.
“I had to lather myself in self tanner before this event because my skin was still stained a little pink from my Halloween costume [the Cheshire cat from ‘Alice in Wonderland’]…and I thought the coco went nicely with the warm bronzed look,” she said.
After calming her nerves with a dance party with her friend, Sally, Earle was ready to meet Ochs, who came to greet her at her hotel.
“We matched each other’s energy right away and I knew we were in for an amazing night.”
