Yahoo Lifestyle Georgina Chapman Goes Sheer in Sequined Strapless Dress at 2025 New York Film Critics Circle Awards With Adrien Brody
Georgina Chapman favored distinct elements in shades of gray for her attire at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards on Wednesday in New York City. The Marchesa fashion designer attended the event alongside her partner Adrien Brody, who earned the Best Actor prize for his work in “The Brutalist.”
Chapman wore a strapless dress in shades of gray and silver. The bodice of the frock featured a fitted look with intricate, shimmering silver and gray embroidery with a botanical design throughout. As the bodice transitioned to a full skirt, the dress featured featherlike pieces overtop the sheer fabric.

Chapman paired the dress with black, open-toe heels and opted for minimal jewelry pieces to accessorize her look, favoring a pair of delicate silver earrings.
When it came to her glam, Chapman went with a classic makeup style, featuring bold brows, a smoky eye and hint of color with a soft pink lip. While posing for photos on the red carpet, Chapman was joined by Brody, who opted for a monochrome look with his all-black suit with statement lapels.
Prior to their appearance at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, Chapman and Brody attended the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. Brody won the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama award. The Oscar-winning actor gave Chapman a shout-out during his Golden Globes acceptance speech.
“To my beautiful and amazing partner, Georgina: Your generosity of spirit, your own resilience, your immense creativity are a daily reminder of how to be. I would not be standing here before you if it wasn’t for you,” Brody said. “There was a time not too long ago that I felt this may never be a moment afforded to me again, so thank you.” Brody and Chapman have been together since 2020. The English designer was previously married to disgraced movie producer and convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein from 2007 until their divorce was finalized in 2021.
The New York Film Critics Circle Awards, held on Jan. 8, honors the best films and performances of 2024. This year’s honorees included Best Director RaMell Ross, the filmmaker behind “Nickel Boys,” Best Actor Adrien Brody (“The Brutalist”) and Best Actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste (“Hard Truths”).
