“It’s hard to put into words the bond we had and the void she leaves. the world feels lonelier and today the journey seems longer and more uphill," the British musician wrote of his late mother. "I know she is with me at all times because that is the way with love and loss. we carry those who we love yet cannot see. that is my comfort.”

The “Can’t Stop the World” singer ended his Instagram caption with a sweet message, writing, “I send you all my love 🖤.”

Rossdale also shared photos of his mother to accompany his announcement. His seven-part Instagram carousel displayed a collection of candid and posed shots, including three also featuring Rossdale.

The “Love Remains the Same” singer shared his devastating family news just hours after Bush announced that a concert slated to take place this weekend was canceled. The group was scheduled to perform at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nev., on Saturday, Feb. 1.

In a statement on Bush's Instagram Stories on Friday, the band said it was “very sad” to announce the cancellation, citing a “personal family emergency.”

“We very rarely cancel shows and are deeply sorry that this has happened. We do not do this lightly - but unhappily the circumstances are not changeable. We cherish our fans and hope they understand that if we could - we would be there,” the band’s statement said.

Purchased tickets will be refunded for those who had planned to attend the show, the statement added.
