Gabrielle Union Debuts Bob Haircut in Sheer Strapless Schiaparelli Body-con Dress for Haute Couture Spring 2025 Fashion Show
Gabrielle Union embraced one of the most popular red carpet trends of 2024 for her look at the Schiaparelli haute couture spring 2025 fashion show on Monday during Paris Fashion Week. The “Bring It On” alum and bestselling author used the front row photo call opportunity to show off her new hairstyle, too.
Union joined other A-list guests and high-profile celebrities ahead of Monday’s fashion show and posed for a series of photos. The actress styled an off-the-shoulder black dress with thick stripes of sheer paneled fabric throughout.

The dress included a short sleeve and body-con fit. Union paired the dress with statement-making pointed-toe black heels with bulb detailing on the toe cap and near the bottom of the heel. Union opted for simple pieces of jewelry, including a few gold bracelets and dainty rings. Upon arrival, Union also styled a long black coat with dramatic lapels and long sleeves.
Union’s hair was chopped into a sleek pixie cut with a side part and a few wisps of hair to add a touch of volume and effortlessly frame her face. Her fresh hairstyle was crafted by longtime hairstylist Larry Sims. Union’s glowing makeup was credited to makeup artist Esther Edeme. Union’s look was curated by stylist Thomas Christos Kikis.
For his spring 2025 haute couture collection, Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry confronted the conflict between minimalism and modernity. “I’m over the idea that minimalism equals modernism, and so I found that my eye was hungry and thirsting for something that was a bit less streamlined, a bit more worked,” Roseberry said backstage, per Joelle Diderich’s WWD review of the collection.
Throughout the collection, Diderich noted how Roseberry “toyed with extreme volumes, with jackets with low orbital necklines exposing brassieres, exploding bustle backs and the impossibly small waistlines that have become de rigueur since Ozempic heralded a return of size 0 on the red carpet.”
Roseberry dubbed the collection “Icarus,” not in reference to the cautionary Greek mythology tale, but as a means of escapism. “It’s the promise of escape — because he was looking to escape — and I just think that’s what couture can offer its audience and its clients: it’s the promise of just 15 minutes of a suspended reality,” Roseberry said.
