Set to a version of the theme song from the 1967 TV cartoon (composed by Paul Francis Webster and Bob Harris), the footage sees Peter Parker juggling the demands of going to school and saving the community from the neighborhood’s bad guys.
To the latter point, we also see Spider-Man allying with… Norman Osborn?!
Announced more than three years ago as Spider-Man: Freshman Year, this offshoot follows Peter Parker “on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots,” per the official logline.
The voice cast includes Hudson Thames (What If…?) as Peter/Spidey, Colman Domingo (Euphoria) as Norman Osborn, Eugene Byrd (Bones) as Lonnie Lincoln, Grace Song (Kidding) as Nico Minoru, Zeno Robinson (Transformers: Earthspark) as Harry Osborn, Hugh Dancy (Law & Order) as Otto Octavius and Charlie Cox (Daredevil: Born Again) as, well, Daredevil.
Jeff Trammell is head writer on the already-renewed series, and Mel Zwyer is the supervising director. Trammell, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt serve as executive producers.
