Former Today newsreader Tracy Vo breaks silence after leaving the show
Former Today show newsreader Tracy Vo has broken her silence after recently leaving the breakfast show.
Channel Nine confirmed this week that Tracy had left the Today show, which films in Sydney, and while she didn't acknowledge it herself, she shared a photo of herself on Instagram from her hometown of Perth.
Tracy shared a little public service announcement by sharing a photo of herself in a T-shirt emblazoned with the words "stay home".
She posed with a ukulele in the shot and wrote, "Stay home... A sparkly PSA brought to you by @empirerose_... Stay safe & well friends... and yep getting a lot of ukulele jams in."
Tracy made the decision to leave Today and return to Nine News Perth in order to be closer to her family during the coronavirus pandemic.
Previously, Tracy had been commuting back and forth to Sydney, however, border shut downs and mandatory isolation policies would have made this too difficult.
Sports presenter Alex Cullen will take over Tracy's duties on Today with Tracy telling TV Blackbox, “I felt it was the best thing to head back west to be close to my family at this uncertain time. I just want to make sure everyone stays safe, looks out for each other, and of course, always practise social distancing.”
Rumours began circulating that Tracy had left Today after she was featured in the promo for Nine News Perth.

One follower wrote, "Welcome back Tracy...you have made the right decision."
Someone else added, "Sad to see you go from Today, in my opinion you always put a spark in the show,I will miss your smiling face, good luck in you new position."
Richard Wilkins also commented, “Miss you TVo xx.”
Tracy has been a member of the Nine News team since 2007 when she landed her first job with the network.
