Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl to spend Christmas with family after love child scandal
Musician Dave Grohl will spend Christmas with his wife and daughters as he works to keep the family intact after he admitted to fathering a child with another woman.
“They are all spending Christmas as a family,” a source told People.
Just three months ago, Grohl announced he had welcomed a daughter with someone other than his wife, Jordyn Blum. Married since 2003, the couple shares daughters Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” the Foo Fighters frontman wrote in an Instagram post in which he also confirmed that he plans to be “a loving and supportive parent” to the child born outside his marriage.
“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he added.
Soon after that, the Foo Fighters canceled the last scheduled date of their nationwide tour, a headliner performance at Connecticut’s Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport.
His reps did not comment on the Christmas plans.
Though Grohl retained a divorce attorney just before his September announcement, the former Nirvana drummer had stopped working with the person in November and remained committed to trying to work things out, according to reports.
“Dave’s been prioritizing his family,” a source told People. “He knows he messed up. It’s one of those situations where you don’t realize what you have until you’re about to lose it. He doesn’t want to lose his family.”
