Actress Jodie Turner-Smith claims she hasn’t been receiving child support or spousal support payments from her ex-husband, Dawson’s Creek alum Joshua Jackson.

In recent legal documents obtained by TMZ, Turner-Smith and her attorney, Laura Wasser, asked the judge handling the couple’s divorce to order Jackson to start cutting her monthly checks of more than $35,000—$8,543 for child support and $28,641 in spousal support, according to TMZ.

She claimed that Jackson had been making significantly more money than her when they were together and that he “promised” to always support her and their 4-year-old daughter, Juno Rose Diana, because he “said he understood how difficult life can be as a Black woman and a single mother.”

Turner-Smith added that Jackson has been “reneging on that promise” and has been trying to get her to agree to a settlement that she believes is less than she deserves, TMZ reports. In addition to spousal and child support, the actress is also requesting Jackson pay an additional $250,000 for attorney fees and forensic accounting costs.

After marrying Jackson in 2019, Turner-Smith filed for divorce in October 2023. The couple welcomed their daughter in April 2020. At the time of their split, a source told People magazine, “She decided that she is done.”

“They are on very different paths in life,” they continued. “Jodie loves being a mom. She also loves working.”

The source also noted, “It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy. They will co-parent their daughter. They want her to continue to thrive.”
