If you're ever in need of a masterclass in sheer dressing, allow Florence Pugh to be your teacher. No one rocks a naked dress quite like the Midsommar star, which is exactly what she did at a New York screening of her new film, We Live in Time.

The English actress graced the theater looking like a Gothic vision in a black lace Christian Dior gown that featured a sleeveless design, a dramatic V-neckline that plunged all the way down to her navel, and a sweeping maxi skirt. Because Pugh has never shied away from showing a little (or a lot) of skin, she wore the centerpiece over nothing but the tiniest black triangle bra and matching high-waisted underwear.

With help from stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray, Pugh accented her ensemble with a couple more edgy accessories via a narrow black leather belt cinched tightly at her waist and matching chunky platform heels. For some feminine, dainty touches, she added two thin chain bracelets, a chain necklace with several small charms, and tiny stud earrings.

The A24 darling wore her wavy blonde bob down but pulled back, and glammed up with a warm smoky eye, fluttery eyelashes, bronzy face makeup, and a natural lip.

Pugh is single-handedly keeping the sheer trend alive and well. The Oppenheimer actress loves a see-through moment, such as at the 96th Academy Awards back in March. Then, Pugh waltzed across the Oscars red carpet in a silver gown from Del Core’s Spring-Summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection. The statement-making piece featured a structured corset with a whimsical peplum, a metallic long skirt that trailed behind her, and crystal embellishments all over.
