Florence Pugh Teams Up with Sebastian Stan and David Harbour in Marvel's Exciting “Thunderbolts*” Trailer
Julia Louis-Drefyus and Wyatt Russell also star in Marvel Studios' 'Thunderbolts*,' in theaters May 2, 2025
Florence Pugh is leading Marvel's next superhero team up.
On Monday, Sept. 32, Marvel Studios debuted the first teaser for Thunderbolts*, with Pugh, 28, and David Harbour reprising their Black Widow roles of Yelena Belova and Alexei Shostakov. The new film sees Yelena return to her adoptive father Alexei, feeling a sense of depression following the events of that movie and Hawkeye.
Set to the PIxies' 1988 hit "Where Is My Mind?," Thunderbolts* meets many of its leads — the movie also features Marvel characters John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) — at standstills in their lives.
By the teaser's end, audiences also get a new glimpse at Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who was introduced Disney+'s 2021 series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Her character appears to be bringing this new team together.
An official longline for the movie describes Thunderbolts* as "an irreverent team-up featuring depressed assassin Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) alongside the MCU’s least anticipated band of misfits."

Rounding out the cast is Sebastian Stan, making his return as the beloved Captain America character Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko and Hannah John-Kamen.

Marvel first confirmed Thunderbolts* was in the works in 2022 and announced several members of the cast that September during D23, garnering tons of excitement from fans.
Pugh and Harbour teased the movie to Marvel fans at San Diego Comic-Con during the studio's presentation on July 27, where Pugh said, "the joy of watching them [this team of former villains] is that they don’t play well together.”
"The complexity of their relationship, this time around we got to go to all these different levels," Harbour added of working with Pugh again. "There’s warmth and humor…but he’s a terrible narcissist. And she’s very dedicated to killing people… I’m really proud of what we did.”
Thunderbolts* is in theaters May 2, 2025. Other MCU movies expected to release in 2025 include Captain America: Brave New World on Feb. 14 and The Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 25.
