Is it presumptuous to throw One of Them Days (out Friday, January 17) into the "greatest buddy comedy of all time" conversation? Maybe, but the stacked cast, (SZA and Keke Palmer!), the Issa Rae production credit, and the positive early reviews indicate that this release might be worth the hype. On top of its two superstar leads, Katt Williams, Maude Apatow, Lil Rel Howley, and Janelle James also appear in One of Them Days, so this one's looking like a guaranteed good time. Read on for more info about this release and where you can stream it.

What Is One of Them Days About?

The story follows roommates Dreux (Keke Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) on their hectic mission to avoid eviction after Alyssa's boyfriend robs her of their rent money. Unfortunately, their rent is due just eight hours after discovering this theft, so they set off on a race against time to gain the funds by any means possible. Throughout the day, that journey includes run-ins with everyone from a local loan shark (Katt Williams) to a gentrifying new neighbor (Maude Apatow), making the film half dysfunctional comedy and half unexpectedly endearing illustration of a neighborhood.

When Does One of Them Days come out?

Although the film was originally slated for a January 24 release, One of Them Days is now dropping on January 17, 2024 in theaters nationwide. Was the online anticipation from fans the reason for this date switch-up? Likely...but not confirmed.

When Can I Stream One of Them Days?

You'll be able to do your inevitable rewatch when the movie drops on streaming platforms later this year. There is a landing page for the film on Apple TV+, but lately, a few films from Sony Pictures (like this one) have headed to Netflix. So it’ll likely appear on one of those two platforms. Usually, Sony Pictures movies are added to Apple TV+ right after their original theatrical run wraps up, but they're put on Netflix up to six months after they're in theaters. That means you should be able to watch this at home anywhere from late winter to early summer of 2025.
