Will Ferrell’s Son Roasts His Dad With Video Of Comedian Being A Total Doofus
Imagine ending up in the emergency room and Buddy the Elf is your first call.
On Wednesday, Will Ferrell’s eldest son, Magnus, decided to participate in the “My Emergency Contact” TikTok trend. The meme involves showcasing a video of your “emergency contact” doing something that makes them look less than capable of helping you during a crisis.
All of the TikToks for the trend follow the same format. The song “Ordinary Girl” from “Hannah Montana” plays in the background as someone is seen doing something somewhat embarrassing like failing to balance on a pool float or progressively burying their head into a wall of snow, while overlaying text reads, “My emergency contact ❤️.”
So, when Ferrell’s son decided to participate in the trend by filming his dad dancing like a goof, TikTok users were delighted.
“You win this trend,” one user wrote, garnering over 7,000 likes in agreement.
And although Ferrell comes off as a typical doofy dad in the TikTok, many people felt that the “Anchorman” star would actually be a great emergency contact.
“can he also be my emergency contact?” one user wrote.
“I’d trust him w my life,” another said.
“Weirdly, I feel like Will Ferrell is good in an emergency,” a third echoed.
Last year, the “Step Brothers” star released the documentary “Will & Harper,” which showcased the comedian’s tender side as he embarked on a road trip with his longtime friend and former “Saturday Night Live” writer, Harper Steele, after she transitioned.
“For me, it was a chance to transition myself, in a way — to learn, to get to know my friend even more than I knew her before, to get to ask these questions that I think a lot of cis people still have, for me to struggle on camera with asking these questions,” Ferrell said in a video interview with Deadline. “And then there are a couple emotional moments where I’m struggling with making sure I stand up for my friend in moments that felt tense for us and feeling like I fail at times.”
In the film, the two friends navigate locations where Steele’s presence is unwelcome. Although he may have felt like he fumbled, Ferrell appeared committed to supporting his friend during those difficult moments — suggesting he would actually be a pretty good person to have by your side.
