Nikki Phillips Joins Yahoo7 as Guest Fashion Week Editor

Get your heels ready: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is only days away. The Yahoo7 team will be on the ground at Fashion Week HQ in Sydney through the week, delivering the latest style news from the front row, backstage and the street.

This year we’re excited to welcome model and style blogger Nikki Phillips as Yahoo7's Guest Editor. Nikki will be bringing you exclusive video interviews with designers and celebrities in addition to her top street style picks and fashion week-inspired Polyvore sets, which we'll deliver for you here daily on Yahoo7 Lifestyle and across our social channels. Nikki will also join us in taking over the @Polvore Instagram account - follow us for daily MBFWA updates and behind-the-scenes snaps.

A seasoned fashion week attendee and front row go-er, Nikki is well-versed on the essentials needed to survive the back-to-back show cycle.

Her top essentials to make it through the week? In addition to her must-have bag of the season, (the Gucci Dionysus) Nikki swears by comfortable flat shoes in between the shows.

“With some shows being off-site, it is easier to hail a cab or run to each show in flats,” she tells us.

Also in her handbag: healthy snacks to keep her on the go.

“I pack muesli bars and nuts in my handbag as sometimes you’re too busy filming to have a lunch break”.

As for keeping fresh-faced throughout the week, Nikki admits she can’t live without paw-paw ointment, rosehip oil spray, a good mascara, and of course, a good concealer to banish under-eye circles during the week.

In between shows, the New Zealand-born model will be keeping a close eye on the Instagram accounts of style blogger @Margret_Zhang, street style photographer @stylesnooperdan and street style account @streetstyleaustralia, which aggregates the best looks of the week.

Once our coverage has wrapped up and fashion week is all over, how will she wind down? “I’m heading straight to Bali. I'm going to take three days off whilst there and do absolutely nothing,” she laughs.
