Major spoiler reveals Farmer Wants a Wife's shock ending

We all love a good love story, but for many Aussies the rough and tumble of the typical reality dating, or marriage, show can be a bit overwhelming.

Between cheating drama on MAFS, split rumours from The Bachelor and the non-stop drama of Love Island, many Aussies are looking forward to the more wholesome content offered by the return of Farmer Wants a Wife, which hits screen in July after more than four years.

Priding itself on its wholesome reputation – nine marriages and 20 kids – the show even sold itself off the ‘real love is back’ tagline in a not-so-subtle dig at other Aussie reality shows.

If you found yourself dreaming of country walks and a kiss in the hay, however, you may be in for a rude shock, after a bombshell ‘spoiler’ was dropped on live radio about the upcoming season that blew the concept of happily ever after to pieces.

Caller claims major cheating bombshell to rock Farmer Wants a Wife 2020

The jaw-dropping revelation happened after a woman identifying herself as a friend of a contestant called into the Fifi, Fev and Byron show on Melbourne’s Fox FM on Tuesday.

Rebecca, a caller kept anonymous by the show’s voice disguiser, called in claiming a close friend was on the show.

She says the woman in question was chosen by the farmer, only to be cheated on then ditched for the runner up.

“I know that she ends up with the guy,” Rebecca told the gobsmacked hosts. “He ends up cheating on her at the end - and then he ends up going to the other girl that he didn't choose!”

A ‘Blake Garvey’ moment for Farmer Wants a Wife?

The startling claim, as yet unsubstantiated beyond the anonymous call, is wildly off-brand for the country-based TV show, and hearkens back to the infamous Blake Garvey moment that shook up The Bachelor franchise back in 2014.

Blake Garvey was Australia’s second Bachelor, but remains the nation’s most infamous after he chose Sam Frost at the season finale, even popping the question with an $80k engagement ring, only to dump her for second runner up Louise Pillidge.

Now used as a catch-all term for any reality contestant who ditches their final choice for another contestant after the cameras stop rolling, Blake could be about to give up his title of most hated man in Aussie dating TV.
