Farmer Wants A Wife's Sam speaks out following unexpected exit

Farmer Wants A Wife's Sam quit the show on Sunday night after being dealt a double blow – the Queensland-based farmer was given the news of a heartbreaking death in the family and also that the woman he was in love with wasn't in love with him.

The 28-year-old was going to continue with the show after finding out the news of his grandfather’s passing, saying, "Even though that just happened, I just want to let you know that I still want to continue this, because my grandfather would have wanted me to do this."

"I came here to look for somebody to do it. It's easier to quit, but it's harder to keep going. But when you keep going, it's more rewarding at the end."

But then Sam was told by Emily that she didn't love him back. She said, "I wish that it wasn't the case, but you told me that you'd fallen in love with me and I haven't fallen for you."

"I'm sorry, I feel sick and I've been thinking about this for days. There's nothing I can say. I could never have imagined in a million years that I would be hurting you, but I think I should go home and I'd like to go home," she said.

Sam revealed that he was "shocked" and "stunned" by the news, adding, "I don't even know what to say. The world's just crashing down."

"I literally thought you were quite perfect and then you gave me this bombshell today and you broke my heart into pieces. But that's life, you can't always get what you want."

He then gathered his love interests Riley, Sophie and Emily together to tell them he would be quitting the show.

Now, the farmer has taken to Instagram to break his silence following the shock exit.

He wrote, "Hey everyone I’m not a big fan of posting sad photos as that’s all I seem to have from the show... but I have received so many messages regarding there condolences when my grandfather passed away and I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind messages. So many beautiful people out there and I appreciate that!

"It was hard watching that on TV on Sunday, a shame they edited so much out but I am glad and happy the show is over."

He then hinted that things were looking up for him, adding, "Since the show was filmed months ago I have been getting back on track and life has been looking great for me lately and my future is looking amazing, I have a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT to make next week on here so stayed tuned!

"Hint. I am the happiest I have ever been!"

He then added that hashtag, "#WorldsLuckiestMan," hinting that he's sparked a romance with someone else.

Fans were quick to comment on the post with one user writing, "Condolences to you and your family... and also happy for you...seems like you may have found your other half?

"Good on you...silver linings do happen."

Another added, "Very sorry to see the news of your grandfather, losing a loved one is such a hard path, i know of this very well. We very much look forward to hearing your big news. Praying for happiness, strength n love for you Sam."

Someone else wrote, "You were the most genuine guy out of all of them, gave each girl the same amount of interest/time to get to know them and just an all round down to earth guy!

"You were great to watch. Sounds like you’ve found the love you deserve! Good on you Sam!"
