Fans Melt at Throwback Video of Bindi Irwin Meeting Newborn Brother Robert—and Giving Him an Epic Nickname

Those who tuned into The Crocodile Hunter got a glimpse of Bindi and Robert Irwin's animal-filled life with their parents, Terri and the late Steve Irwin. Recently, Robert shared a throwback video from the Animal Planet show of Bindi seeing her newborn brother for the first time—and giving him an epic nickname in the process.

In the clip Robert shared via Instagram, Steve told 5-year-old Bindi that her mom had a baby boy, and they headed to the hospital to meet him.

Little Bindi could hardly contain her excitement as she entered the hospital room, where Terri sat in a bed with newborn Robert. As the baby slept in his big sister's lap with a pillow to prop him up, Bindi gently caressed his face.

"How do you know it's a boy?" she asked her parents, following up with, "Did you check?"

She then adorably asked her baby brother, "How long are you going to sleep for?"

Out of nowhere, Bindi declared, "I think by the way he is, I'll call him Brian."

"His name's Robert," Steve said gently with a straight face.

"But I'll call him Brian for short," she insisted, to which Steve nodded in defeat.

The clip ended with Steve holding baby Robert and saying, "It's like the whole reason you're being put on Earth is to do this. It's what it seems like."

In the caption of his July 23 Instagram post, Robert cheekily wrote, "Happy birthday, Bindi... love, Brian."

His followers shared their emotional reactions to the video in the comments. "Who’s chopping up onions," one person wrote, while another declared, "My heart just exploded 😍."

Another Instagram user commented, "I love how Steve didn't even argue with her🤣❤️."

Meanwhile, one fan wrote, "I am laughing and crying all at once. ❤️❤️."

Someone else shared, "Such a beautiful video. Thank you so much for sharing. Your Dad is missed so much! ❤️."
