Fans Emotional Watching Pat Sajak's Final 'Wheel of Fortune' Episode

Pat Sajak on 'Wheel of Fortune'

Pat Sajak's final episode hosting Wheel of Fortune has officially come and gone.

During the Season 41 finale, which aired on Friday, June 7, Sajak led the fan-favorite game show with his co-host Vanna White for the last time, and as soon as he stepped onstage, viewers took to social media overwhelmed with emotion.

"We will miss you Pat!!" one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter, as another wished "All the best to the last of the great game show hosts."

Some fans sadly reflected that it was "the end of an era" while others thanked "One of the GOATs of TV" for "being a fixture in our homes every weeknight."

"A tremendous career full of great moments," one fan praised. "I loved how he always kept the focus on the actual game and made it a space for families to enjoy 30 minutes of fun together every night."

In a video message the game show shared earlier Friday, Sajak thanked audiences for the "incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade."

He also posted a simple message to fans on X. "Thank you all so very much," his tweet said.

In the weeks leading up to the 77-year-old's final days as host, Wheel of Fortune paid tribute to Sajak's many decades dedicated to making the puzzle series entertaining for those onstage and those watching from their cozy seats at home.

A few weeks ago, producers compiled some of Sajak's best moments and shared them in a highlight reel. They also had his daughter, Maggie, interview him so viewers could hear him recall all of his favorite memories both on and off-camera. Then, as the days inched closer to the season finale, his now-former co-host gave him a big sendoff in an emotional farewell video.

While fans are certainly in their feelings over Sajak's departure from the series, they shouldn't have to wait too long to see the show return as his replacement, Ryan Seacrest, was already spotted filming Season 42 with the iconic letter-turner in Hawaii this past February.

As for what's next for Sajak, well, he's ready to make the most of his retirement and already has another gig lined up. Besides all of that, he's hoping that he'll also be receiving a new title at home sooner rather than later.
