Fans devastated over Marvel star Jeremy Renner's accident
The star was airlifted to hospital on New Year's Day.
Fans have been left devastated after Marvel star Jeremy Renner was involved in a horrific snowplough accident on Sunday. The star, 51, was airlifted to hospital on New Year’s Day after the vehicle accidentally ran over one of his legs.
According to TMZ, the machine’s safety features failed, causing it to roll over Jeremy's leg. One of his neighbours, who is a doctor, reportedly put a tourniquet on his leg until he made it to the hospital.
The two-time Oscar nominee was rushed into surgery and is now recovering in the intensive care unit.
“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition,” a representative told Deadline.

Jeremy’s spokesperson also said that his family were grateful for the “incredible doctors and nurses”, and are “tremendously overwhelmed” by the well wishes and support sent from his fans.
Distraught fans have flooded the star’s Instagram comments after hearing about his terrifying accident.
“I hope you recover very soon Jeremy! You are an amazing person, very strong and brave. I love you man,” one fan wrote.
“Please be okay. You have to be okay,” another pleaded.
“Get well soon! Best wishes for your recovery! I want to see you in many more movies and series! To your family I wish much strength. Never stop fighting!” a third added.
“Please be okay, I’m so heartbroken. I can’t believe it you have always been one of my favourite actors. Praying for a speedy recovery, you got this Hawkeye,” another added.
The star is best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and has appeared in other blockbusters such as the Mission Impossible and Bourne franchises.
