Fans Can't Stop Laughing at 'the Shade' Wendy's Just Threw at McDonald's: 'Wendy Could Be a Real Housewife'

There appears to be an ice cream war going on between two fast food chains, and Wendy's definitely didn't come to play.

In a new promo for the beloved Wendy's Frosty, the Ohio-based chain took aim at McDonald's in a petty social media post—and the internet is living for it.

On Friday, Sept. 27, Wendy's trolled its competitor by sharing an Instagram video of a Frosty Fix truck pulling up right in front of a McDonald's location, a sassy marketing strategy to promote their new $1 Frosty deal.

The new deal is an attempt for Wendy's to capitalize on those looking for a frozen treat when the McDonald's ice cream machine is down. To make it happen, Wendy's recently partnered with the developer of McBroken.com, a site that tracks where and when a McDonald's ice cream machine breaks down—and they're hoping to swoop in when McDonald's can't deliver the ice cream options that fans so desperately want.

That's why they shared the shade-filled video to Instagram on Friday, and Wendy's fans say they are "here for it."

"wendy's bringin tha HEAT 😮‍💨" one user wrote under the clip, while another praised Wendy herself for being "the ice cream gangster."

"The shade. Wendy could be a Real Housewife," another commenter quipped.

To promote the Frosty over the McFlurry, Wendy's is offering their fan-favorite frozen concoctions for just $1 through Sept. 30. The deal—which applies to the small size—is available in Classic Chocolate Frosty and the Vanilla Frosty, which is back for a limited time.

"The craving for a sweet treat can strike at any time, but if fans are planning to order from the other guys, they might want to avoid lunch or snack time … or really anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. when machines are most often unavailable, according to McBroken.com data," Wendy's said in a press release this week. "Wendy's knows that when fans are craving a sweet treat, they deserve to have a reliable and delicious option. To make sure that fans with a sweet tooth are covered, Wendy's is mobilizing to bring consumers Frosty treats in their times of greatest need."

"For Frosty fanatics that need a fix sooner rather than later, visit the Wendy's app to locate the nearest restaurant and grab a small Frosty treat for just a buck until September 30," it continued.
