Exclusive: MAFS star Matthew's new girlfriend is leaving Australia

Married At First Sight star Matthew Bennett only just went public with new girlfriend Annabel Jameson, but a new spanner’s aleady been thrown into the works that will shake up their fresh romance.

A source close to the couple has revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle that avid traveller Annabel, who is originally from the UK, won’t be in Australia for too much longer.

Does this mean the pair will continue their romance as a lonyeahg-distance relationship, or will Queensland-based Matthew be joining his love abroad?

“Matt and Annabel have figured out a plan,” the source tells us, adding Annabel’s next destination “won’t be the UK”.

A week ago Annabel also confirmed her stay in Australia is “almost over” when replying to a friend on Facebook.

The friend had asked, “How’s life in Aus!”, to which Annabel responded, “Pretty good! But almost over!”

Earlier this month Matthew and Annabel went public with their relationship, revealing they met at a wrestling competition in Queensland and started quietly dating in December.

“It was doing the show that gave me the confidence to try out for wrestling and I met Annabel,” Matt said during an appearance on Today.

“I was quite intimidated and scared of him because he is quite a big guy… and then it was a few weeks where we just sort of started talking and he started asking me questions that men don’t really ask me, like what I read and what I was interested in,” Annabel added.

The relationship came as a shock to Matthew’s ex Lauren Huntriss, whom he was paired with on the Channel Nine reality show.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, fellow MAFS star Melissa Lucarelli revealed she reached out to Lauren after bumping into Matthew and new love Annabelle at Nova’s radio studios, and understandably she’s “pretty hurt” by how things have panned out.

“She was saying she was pretty hurt by it but she’s doing ok, so that’s good.”
