MAFS star Matt reveals secret girlfriend

We watched his relationship with ‘wife’ Lauren crumble under the pressure of the Married At First Sight experiment, but now ex-virgin Matthew Bennett has revealed he’s moved on.

The 30-year-old, who famously lost his virginity on the show, introduced his new girlfriend, Annabelle, while appearing on the Today show on Thursday morning.

The pair, who have been dating for two months, admitted they actually met while trying out for professional wrestling.

“It was doing the show that gave me the confidence to try out for wrestling and I met Annabelle,” Matt said while looking lovingly at his new brunette beauty from the UK.

“I was quite intimidated and scared of him because he is quite a big guy… and then it was a few weeks where we just sort of started talking and he started asking me questions that men don’t really ask me, like what I read and what I was interested in,” Annabelle said.

Annabelle then admitted that yes, she has watched the show and well… “It’s definitely been an experience,” she said.

“Just as things have unfolded everything’s got a little bit crazy but we’ve just had to be quite low-key.”

“It’s been hard because something that happened months ago, we’re sort of reliving like it’s happening live,” Matt added.

As for his ex Lauren, “This is where it gets a little touchy”, Matt revealed while speaking earlier on Nova 96.9 FM’s Fitzy & Wippa show.

“There’s been relentless contact towards me and I’ve actually asked her to stop contacting me a couple of weeks ago.

“The context of the messages is, well, to put it bluntly, it’s abuse. That’s all it is.”

Meanwhile, Annabelle told Fitzy & Wippa, “It’s not my place [to get involved]… I kind of feel for her a bit, to be honest… we’ve all been there”.

At the end of the day, Matt said that he has no regrets about going on the wild ride that is Married At First Sight, as he got everything out of it that he wanted to, yet he just had to leave the experiment to get it, hinting at his new girlfriend.
