Eva Longoria Looks Back at 20 Years of “Desperate Housewives” and Jokes, 'I Haven't Aged!'

The actress said the hit ABC drama series "changed everything" for her after its 2004 premiere

Eva Longoria is reflecting on her experience on Desperate Housewives nearly two decades after the show premiered.

During her appearance on Today with Hoda and Jenna, host Hoda Kotb asked if this year marks the 20th anniversary of the hit ABC drama series.

“Yes, 2004! 20. And I haven’t aged,” Longoria, 49, responded and Jenna Bush Hager added, “By the way, you haven’t! … You look amazing!”

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding,” the actress — who played Gabrielle Solis on the popular 2000s show — clarified. “But yeah, I was a baby, are you kidding? I look soo … I was a baby.”

When asked what she thinks when she sees old clips from the show, Longoria admitted she has some fashion regrets.

“I think, ‘Whose bright idea was it to have those skinny jeans with a zipper this big, below the hips?’ Who?” she shared.

“They were low rise. I mean, low, low, low... nobody misses them, at all,” she added.

Longoria also reflected on how Desperate Housewives — which ran from 2004 to 2012 for eight seasons — “changed everything” for her.

“It was a decade of my life and it was the No. 1 show in the world so I just remember the first time I went to London, I had never been to London before and there was a big crowd of people outside the hotel,” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘Gosh, who’s here? Is Bono here? Somebody important must be here!’ And the driver was like, ‘… You…’ And I was like, ‘No, somebody like, big. Like a big deal!’”

“And he didn’t understand that I didn’t understand. The global reach of that show, at the time where there was no streaming,” she added.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in June 2023, Longoria shared that she’d "be the first to sign up” for a reboot of the series if it ever came to fruition.

The actress noted that her fellow former castmates might not be so keen. "I think I'd be the only one to sign up," she laughed.

Longoria admitted to host Andy Cohen that she hasn't quite let go of the beloved character. "I miss Gabby," she said.

"Gabby would be an influencer, for sure. She'd be an Instagrammer," the actress revealed when asked where she thinks her character would be today.

Although Longoria would be happy to revisit Wisteria Lane — a fictional street featured on the hit series — she shared that the cast worked hard during the show's eight seasons. "Back in the day, we used to shoot 24 episodes a season, and we did that for eight years," Longoria said. "We fully mined those characters — none of this six-episodes-a-season s---."

"There was nobody left on the street for me to sleep with. I slept with everybody," she jokingly added.
