Elmo's 2025 'Ins And Outs' List Unearths Long-Buried Drama
Elmo just dropped his 2025 “ins and outs” list, and geology fans may not be tickled.
In his inaugural list posted on X, formerly called Twitter, the beloved “Sesame Street” character declared his “ins” as “smiling more, making friends and learning big words.” But it was his “outs” that truly caught the public’s attention, which was simply — rocks.
Elmo’s long-standing feud with rocks can be traced back to his infamous feud with Rocco, the pet rock of his best friend, Zoe. A YouTube compilation video detailing the rivalry paints a picture that shows the lovable red character is simply unable to reconcile that Rocco, something so immovable and indifferent, can exist in a world that, for Elmo, thrives on connection, love and warmth.
While Zoe is not absolved of blame in this saga, Elmo did issue a public apology in 2022 to his friend — but reiterated that he still doesn’t want to speak about Rocco.
On X, a number of people reacted to Elmo unearthing the old feud with his list.
One person wrote, “Rocko said to come outside,” while another quipped, “Babbyy Elmo and Rocco’s beef is deeper than I thought.”
Meanwhile, someone else made their stance on the matter as clear as possible, writing, “This is disturbingly anti-rock.”
This isn’t Elmo’s first time causing a stir on social media. Last year, he innocently posted on X, “Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?” This slight act of kindness opened the floodgates for people on the platform to unearth their trauma on the unsuspecting Muppet.
Among the responses was essayist and poet Hanif Abdurraqib, who wrote in a viral post, “Elmo each day the abyss we stare into grows a unique horror. one that was previously unfathomable in nature. our inevitable doom which once accelerated in years, or months, now accelerates in hours, even minutes. however I did have a good grapefruit earlier, thank you for asking.”
Fortunately for the beloved character, one user came to Elmo’s aid after seeing everyone treat him like their personal therapist, writing, “Never trauma dump on this sweet child ever again.”
