Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods on 'Elle'

Welcome back, Elle Woods.

Reese Witherspoon has unveiled our first look at Lexi Minetree as the new face of everyone's favorite pink and peppy lawyer.

"Harvard was hard. High School was harder," Witherspoon captioned the photo. "Our new series, Elle, is now in production!"

Decked out in Elle's signature color (pink, of course), with a phone cord and bedsheets to match, Minetree looks to be in the middle of a juicy phone call in the first image of the Legally Blonde prequel series.

Earlier this year, the Murdaugh Murders actress was announced as the star of the upcoming show from Amazon Prime Video and Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine. The prequel stars Minetree as a younger version of future lawyer Elle Woods, before she becomes the polished young woman who takes Harvard by storm. The show stars Tom Everett Scott as Elle’s father and June Diane Raphael as her mother.

Elle hails from series creator and showrunner Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure) and will follow Elle throughout her high school years, giving viewers a peek at the heartbreaks, friendships, and formative moments that shape her into the future Harvard graduate that movie fans know and love. Witherspoon is executive producing the series, alongside Lauren Neustadter, Lauren Kisilevsky, and Marc Platt.

Pitch Perfect and Shotgun Wedding director Jason Moore will direct the first two episodes.

"Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to @reesewitherspoon for handing me down Elle Woods," Minetree wrote in an Instagram post, following the news that she snagged the coveted role. "I already love her so so much, I promise she’s in good hands. P.S. thank you for showing me how amazing I am going to look in the future, soooo looking forward to that."

The original 2001 cult classic centered on Witherspoon's sorority queen as she enrolled at Harvard Law in an attempt to win her boyfriend back. Along the way, Elle proves to her classmates, her ex, and eventually herself, that she's so much more than a blonde stereotype.

Jennifer Coolidge, Luke Wilson, Selma Blair, and Linda Cardellini also starred in the comedy, which spawned the 2003 sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde. A third film from Mindy Kaling is also in the works, as is a separate spin-off series from Witherspoon, Josh Schwartz, and Stephanie Savage.
