Ecuador’s 2bLatam and Mexico’s Elefantec Jointly Expanding Into Film and Series (EXCLUSIVE)

Following the successful launch of their digital venture enchufe.tv México early this year, partners Arturo Yepez of Ecuador-based 2bLatam and José “Pepe” Bastón of Elefantec Global are gearing up for a strategic expansion.

This new initiative will extend 2bLatam’s enchufe.tv universe beyond the digital realm, venturing into streaming platforms, cinema and branded entertainment. The goal is to engage audiences in Mexico and the United States with innovative content that blends humor, creativity and value, catering to the needs of leading brands in the region, they stressed.

“We are in an era where the major players in the industry are turning their attention back to content creators and social media. This expanded agreement with Elefantec is another step in our journey to becoming the benchmark for Spanish-language comedy production worldwide,” said Yepez.

The partnership will now include original series and films based on enchufe.tv’s characters, tapping the unique traits of Mexicans and Latinos in the U.S. to connect with audiences. It will also focus on creating brand-driven content that combines entertainment with enchufe.tv’s signature humor, building strong digital communities.

2bLatam’s YouTube channel enchufe.tv, which has over 27 million subscribers and reaches more than 60 million on social media, is touted as the world’s number one Spanish-language comedy sketch channel.

Among the bespoke sketches created for enchufe.TV Mexico are “Latin World War (Mexico vs. Ecuador)” which has clocked 1.4 million views and “Raiders of the Adult Toy,” an Indiana Jones-inspired parody, that has generated close to a million views and more than 3,000 comments.

“Since we began our collaboration co-producing the first season of sketches for enchufe.tv México, we realized the enormous potential of this IP, particularly in Mexico and the U.S. Hispanic market. This new agreement will allow us to develop projects aimed at young audiences, a highly important segment for all media,” said Bastón.

One of enchufe.tv’s most successful sketches is a parody of the Japanese manga series Captain Tsubasa,” titled “Super Campeones” (“Super Champions”), which has garnered over 100 million views. Given the region’s predominantly young population, these sketch comedies have quickly gained immense popularity.

The challenge is now to adapt their enchufe.tv IP into equally successful feature films and series, with branded entertainment as their initial focus.

Founded by Bastón, a former top Televisa exec, Elefantec Global is behind such notable productions as “Bosé” for Paramount+ in Latin America, “La rebellion” for ViX+ and CNN’s “Eva Longoria, Searching for Mexico.”

2bLatam manages a network of over 500 talents in the region and specializes in branded content, digital strategies and producing series and films for young audiences.
