‘Ear jobs’ are on the rise
As if we didn’t have enough to worry about as we get older, cosmetic surgeons are now saying a droopy earlobe will give away your age as much as southward-heading breasts.
While a ‘lobe job’ is often performed as part of a face rejuvenation, it is also becoming more popular as a standalone procedure.
The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (BAAPS) featured a presentation on earlobe correction at their recent conference.
At a surgery in London you can have your earlobe trimmed and reattached in a mere 45 minutes.
Extra fat can be added to a sagging earlobe to make it look younger, while another procedure fixes holes torn by heavy jewellry. A non-invasive procedure uses radio-frequency energy to tighten and re-shape ears.
But then again a single ear repair will cost you £1200, which would buy you a lifetime’s worth of earrings.
