Was Dunkin's 2024 Ad with Ben Affleck, J.Lo, Tom Brady and Matt Damon the Best Super Bowl Commercial Ever? Revisiting the DunKings
The Boston icons, Affleck, Brady and Damon, formed a boy band and performed for Lopez in Dunkin's 2024 Super Bowl commercial
The DunKings' songs and orange jumpsuits are still on our minds.
Dunkin’s Super Bowl LVIII commercial showed Boston elites (Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Tom Brady) trading silver screens and stadiums for a recording studio. The trio makes up a boy band, the DunKings, who come together to celebrate Boston’s favorite coffee brand — and crash Jennifer Lopez's recording session.
Affleck, Damon and Brady bust into Lopez and Fat Joe’s studio, all clad in matching orange and pink tracksuits.
“What up! For your consideration, here comes the Boston Massacre. The DunKings!” Affleck says to a mortified Lopez.
The NFL legend jams on the keys, the Gone Girl actor breaks out in a dance and the Martian star sips on an iced coffee while the lyrics ring out, “Don’t dunk away at my heart. Why you Dunkin’ me, girl?”
The commercial showcased a comically tense Affleck and Lopez as she scolds her then-husband in the spot, telling him, “We talked about this.” In the end, Lopez invites the former Patriots quarterback to stay and sends Damon and Affleck out the door.
Six months after the ad's release, Lopez filed for a dissolution of marriage in August 2024. Affleck and Lopez finalized their divorce on Jan. 6.
The commercial bloomed into culture IRL. The ad inspired real menu items, including Affleck’s own drink and the DunKings Munchkins Skewers, and a line of apparel to match the stars’ on-screen outfits.

Affleck worked a shift as a drive-thru employee for the coffee chain to a slew of surprised customers who rolled up to the window. Lopez was less pleased when she drove up to Affleck, who was wearing a Dunkin’ visor and T-shirt.
