Kate Middleton's brother James Middleton marries in secret wedding

Kate Middleton was on hand to celebrate her younger brother James' wedding to his girlfriend of three years, Alizée Thevenet in France over the weekend.

James, 34, married French analyst Alizée, 32, in the French village of Bormes-les-Mimosas on the famous Côte d'Azur.

The couple was forced to postpone their nuptials twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic but were finally able to walk down the aisle 'surrounded by family and friends'.

Entrepreneur James announced the happy news on his Instagram page, sharing a sweet photo of him and his new bride.

"Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village of Bormes-les-Mimosas," he gushed in the caption.

"Words cannot describe how happy I am."

Daily Mail reports that along with Kate, the private ceremony was attended by Prince William as well as James' other sister, Pippa, and her husband James Matthews.

His parents Carole and Michael Middleton, and two of his beloved dogs, Luna and Mabel, were also there.

The Duchess of Cambridge hasn't been seen in public for over two months with many questioning why she has been 'missing' from the public eye for so long.

Some royal watchers — as well as Sunrise host Nat Barr — have speculated the 39-year-old may be pregnant with the couple's fourth child.

'She said oui'

James announced his engagement to Alizee in an Instagram post in October 2019.

"She said OUI," read the caption. "Our secret is out but we couldn’t be happier to share the news."

The couple's happy news was first revealed by Daily Mail reporter Richard Eden after he spoke with one of James and Alizée’s friends.

"I can reveal that James is to wed his French girlfriend, Alizée Thevenet," Richard wrote, adding that the bride-to-be has been spotted wearing a 'beautiful sapphire sparkler'.

The pair met at an exclusive bar in London in mid-2018 when James' dog Ella wandered over to Alizée's table.

Ultra-private James surprised everyone in July 2019 by sharing a candid snap of a bikini-clad Alizée on his Instagram.

James and Alizée made their official public debut at Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston’s wedding in May 2019 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

Later that year, the happy couple were spotted walking hand-in-hand at Wimbledon, where they watched the action alongside Pippa and Carole Middleton.

Who is Alizée Thevenet?

Alizée's father, Jean-Gabriel Thevenet, told the newspaper that his daughter speaks multiple languages which she may have picked up while living in countries including Chile, Indonesia and Belgium while growing up.

She has been living and working in London for around six years, and, according to Town & Country, holds a Master's degree in Investment and Finance from Queen Mary University of London.

Alizée is reportedly an avid skier, which is a perfect match for adventurous outdoorsman James.
