Dubbo's Aussie welcome for Harry and Meghan
Royal fever has hit new heights as Dubbo, NSW, prepares to welcome Prince Harry and Meghan to the regional town today.
The fans are out in force, the streets have been decorated, and they’ve even prepared one of the most Aussie things ever – a special Royal beer for the occasion.
Named ‘Dubbo Royale’ the beer is a British-style lager that includes a ‘fruity’ US West Coast component to include Meghan, News.com.au reports.
The Hunter Valley brewed beer, served at the Old Bank Hotel and other pubs across town, has been dubbed “marriage in a can”.
“We wanted to take a component from both Harry and Meghan, something very unique from each of them,” publican Ryan Mackintosh told Sunrise.
“For Harry’s side we took lager, and for Meghan’s side we took three hops from the West Coast.”
Hotels are full and cafes are packed as crowds await the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who will spend five ours in Dubbo on the second day of their official royal tour.
Shop windows decked out with royal displays line the main streets, with crowds slowly building.
Harry and Meghan will be in Dubbo to reveal a new plane for the Royal Flying Doctor service, currently celebrating 98 years of flying, as well as visiting a drought-stricken farm.
Yesterday Harry and Meghan were officially welcomed to Australia at Admiralty House, before heading to Taronga Zoo and then meeting crowds outside the Sydney Opera House.
All eyes will be on what Meghan is wearing today as everyone is also on bump watch, since the pair announced they were expecting their first child together.
