Why Doria Ragland was a no-show at Meghan's baby shower
The Duchess of Sussex returned to London on Thursday, having spent a fun-filled five days in New York for her star-studded baby shower.
Serena Williams, Amal Clooney, Jessica Mulroney and Abigail Spencer were among the celebrity pals present at The Mark hotel in the Upper East Side, however, there was one key person missing from the festivities – Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

The 62-year-old stayed put on the west coast of the country, in her home town of Los Angeles, while her daughter was in New York City.
However, there’s a good explanation for her absence.
According to Harper’s BAZAAR, the lavish NYC baby shower is just the first of two.
A smaller gathering has reportedly been scheduled for friends in the UK after Meghan returns from her trip to Morocco this weekend.
Doria is set to attend the celebrations in the United Kingdom, Elle.com reports.
Kate Middleton skips NYC baby shower
Another person who was notably absent from the baby shower celebrations was Meghan’s sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Instead of hitting the Big Apple, it’s been reported that Kate, 37, is actually on a secret ski trip with Prince William and their three children, Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and nine-month-old Prince Louis.
William and Kate likely went to their favourite ski resort, the Courchevel in the Troi Vallees in France, a royal source told The Sun.
It is not known if Kate will be attending the second baby shower in the UK.
