Donna Kelce Rocks Hat in Apparent Nod to Travis and Taylor Swift's Relationship
Donna Kelce is wearing her heart on her...head?
Earlier this month, the NFL mom-turned-Hallmark Star was photographed rocking a fan-made Kansas City Chiefs hat embroidered with a nod to her son Travis Kelce's relationship with Taylor Swift.
Donna, 71, broke out the custom cap during the first home game for the Chiefs—which also doubled as the team's 2024 season-opener—on Thursday, Sept. 5.
Images taken ahead of the game at Arrowhead Stadium show the doting mom strutting through the stands proudly rocking the black baseball cap featuring the Chiefs logo and a few extra additions—some white cosmos, sprigs of holly and a gold 87.
While the numbers clearly represent the tight end's jersey number, the choice of florals wasn't random, either. The white cosmos coincide with Travis' October birthday (alternatively, sometimes marigolds are used), while the budding holly is one of the two birth flowers given to the month of December (with the second being the paperwhite, a close relative of the daffodil plant).
Two days after Mama Kelce stepped into the spotlight with the subtle accessory, its designer, Alexa, shared a video on TikTok documenting the embroidery process. She also shared a final close-up look at her work with her followers on Instagram.
"My general idea was to incorporate matching florals to pair with the red/white asymmetrical logo and work," the artist explained in the accompanying caption of the Sept. 7 TikTok video. "So honored to have made this!"
Alexa, who owns StatenStitch, doesn't appear to have this exact hat for sale online, but she does have several other designs inspired by the international pop superstar and her three-time Super Bowl champ boyfriend, as well as the patterns for those interested in DIY-ing the projects themselves, listed on her Etsy store.
As for other Tayvis-coded accessories approved by the A-list celebs themselves, fans have options.
Swift's mom, Andrea, sported a simple pin as a show of support just a couple of months after the "Fortnight" singer was photographed wearing several pieces of jewelry ranging from $14 to a couple thousand dollars at a game in January. The creator of the viral "TnT" bracelet Travis gifted the 14-time Grammy winner also spoke out, and while the piece was custom, the only thing stopping Swifties from ordering their own version might just be the price tag (but don't worry, her beloved Baublebar regularly goes on sale).
