Donald Trump's Niece, Mary L. Trump, to Publish New Book About Her Family
'Who Could Ever Love You' follows Mary's late father, Fred Trump Jr.
Mary L. Trump has announced the publication of a new book about her family.
The writer and psychologist’s book, Who Could Ever Love You, will be published this fall by St. Martin’s Press. The book will reveal details about Mary’s late father, Fred Trump Jr., and his experiences within his immediate family.
“Mary Trump is a truth-teller, and in this intimate new book, she lays bare the toxic family dynamic that now shapes every day of our national discourse,” George Witte, St. Martin’s Publishing Group SVP and Editor-in-Chief, says in a statement shared with PEOPLE.
Subtitled “a family memoir,” Who Could Ever Love You will follow Fred Jr., the older brother of former president Donald Trump. The author details the way her father’s family dynamics played out: Fred Jr.’s “humiliation” at the hands of his father, real estate developer Fred Sr., who deemed his eldest "too sensitive" and uninterested in the family business. Instead, Fred found a “kindred spirit” in Donald, per the book's description.

Mary writes about how her father’s desire for approval from Fred Sr. seeped into her own life. Fred Jr. experienced illness and alcoholism, and her parents eventually divorced, leaving Mary “dangerously vulnerable” as a child. Freddy died in 1981 at age 42, with no family by his side.
Who Could Ever Love You brings readers another inside look into the Trump family and how it has impacted its author.
Mary is also the author of 2020’s bestselling, tell-all book Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man, which details her uncle Donald Trump’s rise to the presidency, and includes details about his relationship with Fred Jr. and their father.

This new book provides a fresh perspective, as Mary wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on March 19.
“I’ve told you what growing up in this family did to Donald—now I’m telling the story of what it did to my dad and me,” she wrote.
Who Could Ever Love You will be published on Sept. 10 and is now available for pre-order.
