Foodies unable to decide between a hot dog or a pizza this grand final season are in luck with the launch of Dominos’ new “experimental” pizza.

Launching on Monday, Domino's’ new Pizza Dogs range promise to take the pizza giant “where no quick serve restaurant in Australia has gone before”.

The street food-inspired snack combines a kransky-style sausage with “light but perfectly crisped dough” and silky mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce.

Available from just $3, Domino’s head of product development Michael Tracey said the dogs were a testament to the fast-food giant’s dedication to “pizza innovation”.

“We’re seeing consumers increasingly experiment with new taste experiences,” Mr Tracey said.

“We want to offer consumers something different that moves them out of their typical takeaway comfort zone. A recipe for success if you will.”

The new range comes after the launch of the pizza giant’s Burger Pizza range earlier this year that likewise melded two otherwise distinct fast foods.

With the cheap price point, Domino’s ANZ chief marketing officer Allan Collins said he was convinced foodies would be “converted from the classic sausage sizzle”.

“Pizza Dogs have to be one of my favourite new menu items that don’t just offer a taste sensation but are also fantastic value for money,” he said.

“They are the perfect on the go snack or addition to your favourite pizza order.”

The Pizza Dogs are available for order in-store, online or through the Domino’s App.
